Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Oklef (“Oklef”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates oklef.com, a social media management tool that lets you connect your social accounts, schedule and auto-publish posts, view analytics and collaborate with your team. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. By using Oklef you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive the basic profile information you authorize.
- Connected social accounts. The social accounts you choose to connect (such as Instagram, Facebook Pages, Bluesky and Mastodon) and the OAuth access tokens or credentials needed to act on your behalf. These tokens and credentials are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
- Content you create. The posts, captions and media you upload, draft, schedule or publish through Oklef.
- Engagement metrics. Performance data we fetch from the connected networks for the content you manage, such as likes, comments, reach and similar analytics.
- Usage data. Basic technical and usage information such as log data, device and browser information, and how you interact with the product, used to operate and improve the service.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the Oklef service;
- Publish and schedule the content you create to the networks you choose;
- Fetch and display analytics for your connected accounts;
- Enable team collaboration within your projects;
- Authenticate you, secure your account and prevent abuse or fraud;
- Communicate with you about the service, including important notices;
- Improve, troubleshoot and develop new features.
4. Meta Platform Data (Facebook & Instagram)
When you connect a Facebook or Instagram account, we access certain data through the Meta Graph API, specifically:
- Your list of Facebook Pages;
- Your connected Instagram Business account;
- The Page and Instagram access tokens required to act on your behalf;
- Engagement metrics for the posts we publish for you (such as likes and comments).
We use this Meta Platform Data only to publish the content you schedule and to show you analytics for that content. We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising or audience targeting, and only share your content with the social network you choose to publish to. Our access and use of Meta Platform Data complies with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. You may revoke our access at any time by disconnecting the channel in Oklef or by removing the Oklef app from your Facebook settings.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With the networks you publish to. When you schedule or publish a post, we transmit that content to the social network you selected.
- With service providers. Trusted vendors who process data on our behalf to run the service (for example, our cloud hosting and database providers), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- For legal reasons. Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Oklef, our users or the public.
- In a business transfer. In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account and connections are active. Access tokens and credentials for a channel are deleted when you disconnect that channel, and the associated data is removed when you delete the related project or your account. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. OAuth tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM, data is transmitted over HTTPS in transit, and access to the connected networks is limited to the scopes necessary to provide the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
8. Your Rights & Choices
You can:
- Access and review the information associated with your account;
- Correct or update your account information;
- Export your data;
- Disconnect any connected channel at any time, which deletes the stored tokens for that channel;
- Delete individual projects or your entire account, which removes the associated data.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data-protection laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@oklef.com.
9. Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time. For full instructions, including in-app deletion, deletion by email request and the automated Facebook deletion callback, see our Data Deletion page.
10. Cookies & Sessions
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain your session, secure the service and remember your preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality such as staying logged in.
11. Children’s Privacy
Oklef is not directed to and is not intended for children. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by local law) to use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Oklef after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
14. Contact Us
